Chivas Brothers Responsib’all Day
A sustainable employee engagement event involving 1,200 employees litter picking at different sites across London and Scotland.
OUR CHALLENGE
We were challenged with coordinating the UK section of Responsib’ALL day, an annual global event that saw just over 700 employees gather at different sites over London and Scotland to litter pick around river banks and beaches. All the plastic was collected in order to make a giant plastic punt to sit in a river in Scotland, a crucial feature to help save the environment. There were 10+ remote sites in London, Central and Northern Scotland, and we needed to facilitate the litter picking, facilities on site, and 3 convivial moments, all in one day!
For the client, this was an all-employee engagement event, where all staff members were expected to get involved, spend time together and give something back to the community.
OUR SOLUTION
We worked with Keep Scotland Beautiful and Thames 21 to facilitate the litter picking, and supplied guests with bags, litter grabbers, and wellies onsite, so that they were well-equipped for a day of litter picking. We also sourced local suppliers in London and Scotland to provide portaloos, tea and coffee stations and lunches for each site. To keep the guests energised throughout the day, we provided each site with a local tea and coffee truck, which provided the guests with free flowing hot drinks and cakes throughout the day.
Lunch was a packed lunch, delivered in a wicker hamper and enjoyed by all after a long morning of picking! We then organised 800 guests from Scotland and 400 from London to come together and share experiences of the day over mocktails and canapés, while listening to speeches about the initiative they took part in. We also managed all logistics on site for the client. In Scotland, we moved guests from six separate distilleries to their litter picking sites, and then later to their convivial moment in a local hotel and then back to their distilleries after the event. Over in London, we transported delegates from their sites back to their headquarters in Hammersmith.
By the end of the event, 235 bags of plastic were collected over 6 sites and 420kg of plastic was collected in Scotland!
