New Year, New Venues!

A New Year is a time for new beginnings... and new venue openings! 2022 witnessed the opening of a wide range of exciting new venues and many more are set to open in the coming year. Read on to find out about Live's top 3 most exciting venue openings for 2023!

Oceandiva London

The first revolutionary C02 neutral event venue on the River Thames.

As part of Smart Group, this is definitely the venue opening we are most excited for in 2023! Getting ready to set sail early this year, Oceandiva London is ready to set a new standard for sustainability venues in the UK. Spanning across three decks, this unique blank canvas venue provides clients the ability to host sensational events on the river, whether static or sailing, in the heart of the City. This versatile venue can play host to a wide range of events, including award ceremonies, drinks receptions, conferences, dinners, film premieres, fashion shows, product launches, charity events, exhibitions, weddings and private celebrations. As part of the Oceandiva launch, a series of electrical charging points will be installed at several points along the river – from London Bridge to Greenwich – encouraging other vessels to follow suit. We can’t wait to start planning and producing events onboard!

Labyrinth Waterloo

The Home of Immersive Experiences

Another exciting venue opening in the new year is Labyrinth Waterloo. Launching as part of the development of The Sidings underneath Waterloo Station, Labyrinth will offer a trio of different immersive experiences including: an ‘Alice’s Adventures Underground’ immersive theatre space where you can engage in mesmerising performances, the ‘Underland’ bar where you can sip on drinks perfect for a Mad Hatter’s tea party, and  ‘The Rosarium’ restaurant, where you can indulge in a delicious menu and drinks served as part of a theatrical experience. Whether you’re hosting a reception or a dinner, this venue is guaranteed to engage your guests and add an element of excitement to your event.

Edit

A hyper-seasonal, low impact restaurant in the heart of Hackney

Finally, launching in Hackney in January 2023, is a new low-impact, fine-dining plant-based eatery. Fitting with the prediction that the ‘trend’ of sustainable events will continue to flourish into 2023 and beyond, the restaurant is aiming to challenge the traditional and wasteful habits of the food industry. The independent restaurant’s menu will vary daily, depending on the availability of the season, and all produce will be sourced from small, local farms. The sustainability of this venue doesn’t stop at the food – the architecture of the restaurant also exhibits a range of new sustainable materials and circular design concepts.
