5 minutes with Brogan Ball – Head of Creative and Client Development
Introducing (well re-introducing) Brogan Ball, Head of Client Relations. Brogan joined the team back in 2016 as an intern and is now heading up Creatives and Client Relations here at Smart Live. Her creativity and personal relationships with each of our clients has led to this latest promotion and we’re so excited to hear more about what she wants to bring to the role.
What have you enjoyed most about working at Smart Live?
Where do I start? As mentioned above I have now been at Smart Live for nearly 5 years so there are so many things that I enjoy about being a ‘Smartie’. But I suppose the main thing that I am constantly reminded of is the ‘one team one dream’ ethos that runs through every single team member. Even from my intern days, to being a junior project manager, a senior project manager, head of events and now my new role, every single person plays a key role and feels as important as the Smartie standing next to them. Whether it be congratulating event successes or riding the challenging waves that the industry can throw at you, everyone is in it together and that truly is something special. This culture is something that has been demonstrated more than ever this past year and the way Smart Live have adapted to the times but never let the integrity of the team or our expectations of our clients be affected is something I am proud of every day.
Well, as the new title tells creativity is at the heart of my role and ultimately at the heart of my day-to-day work therefore, I think the creative approach I take has to be my main USP. For me a successful project is one that at the core focuses on the main event deliverables but has levels of creativity that then builds it to the point that makes it a truly unforgettable experience. Don’t get me wrong, there is a time and place for creativity to play its tune however, done right, even the smallest nods of creative magic can make the biggest impact.
Firstly, being able to physically see our lovely clients! A huge part of my role is of course client development so not being able to see our clients, visit their offices, spend time with them face-to-face brainstorming brilliant news ideas has been hard. Nevertheless, I am so excited to take all of our learnings and adaptations from the past year and continue to develop them creatively. Whether that be in the new virtual world or if we are lucky enough to deliver them in person. Secondly, I am excited to see Smart Live continue to stay strong and be a leading agency that takes the hits of the past year and come out relentless and undefeated. I am excited to see our team back to full force and be able to proudly deliver the events we love to the clients we have built our brilliant relationships with.
